Prayer Poem

Prayer lives within
the heart of gold;
the bold –
the unafraid to fall
to pieces at their knees
and to believe
there is some spirit in their plea;
to speak to some thing
above or below
and more often than not
within soul.
This prayer is where
lightness begins
to be seen;
to believe is to see,
not the other way ‘round
as the ever-waiting believe.
Through floor beneath
the self sinks
and there is no turning back
from the way this heart
and spirit has cracked –
wide open
inside
full seeing resides
and prayer guides
through moonlit lining of night;
as strength unfolds
I come back to my feet,
in stillness
complete.
